Hey guys. I just got it. Its new to me, but it is a rebuilt a/,m transmission. I still have some problem. Sometimes in reverse , i have to move the shifter around ,then the car will go in reverse. Any ideas?

could be your inhibitor switch not sitting into gear correctly...or it could be your shifter busings. Shifter bushings are a couple bucks to replace...as for the inhibitor switch, when i had the tranny replaced in my 91 I had to take it back and have my mechanic 'clean' the inhibitor switch. Worked good as new. No problems with my shifter after that.

There is also a saftey switch that keeps you from going into reverse directly from any gear execpt 1st. If reverse does not work, go int 1st, let the clutch out, and then try reverse.
