*bose Stereo System*

I have a 1992 Maxima SE with the stock Bose stereo. The left side speakers (F and R) are quieter than the right side. I turn the balance **** about 3/4 to the left and then they sound about even but sometimes i still get this problem. I use a discman through the cassete car kit and i notice the problem a lot. Not only will the left side speakers get quiet but sometimes make scratching/screeching/static noises. When I use the radio the speakers will sometimes sound more evenly balanced between the L and R side. Also, when I put the driver window all the way down, once it goes all the way down the left side speakers will immediately go quiet(this happens occasionally). Im thinking its either the left side amps or speakers, but with the radio/discman and window coming into play Im confused. What do you think it could be, and how much would any parts be to replace? (i dont want an aftermarket piece)

Sometimes with the bose amps, the capacitors can leak acid onto the circuit board inside the amp. It usually requires the tracks on the board to be cleaned, and maybe a couple of capacitors too, i got a quote for around $30 to $70 NZD per amp.
