I am only using the good brand names. Chevron is what I use most...89 octane for my SE. You can go with Chevron, Texaco, 76, or Exxon. I can't think of any other good brand names. Just stay away from the other gas stations.

i use chevron 93 octane fuel in my car. if i'm not mistaken, the owner's manual reccomends the use of 93 octane in our cars.

i like chevron because of the techron additive that they use.

I usually just use 87. Never tried anything different. Can you actually tell the difference between the octanes? like in how the car performs

I always just use the cheapest 87 Octane that I can find. If a name brand is the cheapest then I will buy it, otherwise "Racetrack" and whatever else is CHEAP get's my $$. I one time accidently filled my car up with 93, and there was NO advantage that I could see. Basically from what I understand the VG30E is designed to run on 87 octane, and anything higher is just a waste of money. This is a TOTALLY different story if you have a turbo charged car or if your motor has carbon build up, increased compression, or advanced timing. Fortunatly, mine doesn't seem to have any problems with carbon build up (yes, even with cheap gas). The plugs that were probably 100k miles old (85k from the previous owner, 15k miles from me and cheap gas) were worn normally and had NO deposits on them. So IMHO, as long as the cheap gas stations are actually selling you OK gas, then 87 Octane from cheap-o stations should be just fine for our cars. (Unless you have the VE30DE, in which case you NEED 93) I mean, no offense but there is really nothing high stress about a 3.0L V6 putting out 160hp, they don't rev that high, and the compression ratio isn't that high either... why bother unless your car has a known issue?

Just my $0.02, flame suit on :-)

I think for SE's they recommend 91 oct.
When gas was real cheap all I ran was 93.
Don't really see 91 in my area.
Then prices went real high and I did one tank 93 one tank 89.
I do think 93 makes a difference in performance in my VE.
