aRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!! MY BABY IDLES ROUGH! PLEASE HELP!
My '91 SE is acting real choppy when it idles (and first gear), up to about 2000rpm. I've had the timing belt replaced recently, and the distributor and wires are new. I just changed the plugs and the fuel filter last night, and this morning i filled it with premium gas and threw in a bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner.
AND IT HASN'T CLEARED UP!!!!
I know i'm being impatient, but shouldn't all this work have made a difference?!?! Please don't tell me that I have to have the injectors replaced!

That's the way mine acted when the fuel injectors needed replaced. I used a bottle of STP synthetic cleaner that cost about $14, that worked great for about 3-4 months but finally one of the injectors gave out. When I tried it a second time it did nothing but waste my money. Pep Boys changed them out for $655 last week....

All six replaced.....
Yea, all six replaced. I originally paid Firestone $60 to diagnose it but then they wanted arount $1,200 to do the job. They were charging something like $149 per injector. I called Nissan, they quoted me around $1,400, something like $126 per injector.
A mechanic I know told me that he would do it for $200 if I got the parts. Well I called around, Advance, Checkers, Pep Boys etc... The lowest I found was around $78. I believe the parts person at Pep Boys had said around $111 per injector.
Well I procrastinated a bit, then deployed to the desert for 3 1/2 months. My wife drove my truck instead. When I returned I started calling for the parts again so the guy could get the job done. Only this time I had stopped by Pep Boys and asked the repair section. They stated that they could get them for around $84-$87 per injector and $154 labor but the job should be no more than $680.
So I figured why have someone on the side do it if a reputable place will do it for less. Plus it's easier to get fixed if something went wrong. I dropped it off early on a Friday morning. That evening it wasn't done. Seems one of the injectors they got shorted out and they needed to get one more. The technician said they'd stay within the price quoted, now was $655. I picked it up Saturday evening. The invoice showed the six injectors but then a seventh which cost more at $116, evidently the place they got the first six from didn't have any left in stock so to turn the car around and get it back to me they picked up the extra cost involved.
