air leak test?

does anyone know how I test? thanks for any help.

on tires,put water on the tire and look for bubbles

how would I test for a vacuum leak? My gas mileage sux and I can hear a whistling when accellerating but I dont know where its coming from.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well, I can hear a hissing sound from the driver's side of my engine bay when the hood is up.
