About Advance Timing

Ok, i thought stock timing was supoost to be 15 degree's?

well i took a look at my timing it was on 20 degree's looked at the ditributor cap to see if it was changed by anyone else, didnt looked like it was touched in years...

well i advanced the timing to 25 degree's i`ll let u guys know if get any knocking or pinging.. im not sure, if 25 degree's advance is safe.. but oh well stock was 20 or (stock to me) since i coulda sworn its suppost to be 15

any opinions about this?

Stock timing = 15 degrees.

Maybe during a previous service or something it got bumped up, who knows. I'd back it off to 20 again, going to 25 won't get any worthwhile gains without other mods anyway.

And don't rely on being able to listen to the engine pinging and backing off, the pinging you can't hear causes just as much damage when abused over time.
