Should I consider moding my Max 91'?
I've always wanted to make it look better and run smooth (not much car for speed since well... I'm a lux kinda guy)
The factors which are holding me back to moding it are:
Anyway whats your opinion mod it
or
treat the 91' best I can until I can afford a newer max
The factors which are holding me back to moding it are:
- I dont have fog lights (that extra set of lights under the bumper)
- Whenever I come around 40-55km/h I get this "kick back" kinda like I'm switching gears (auto transmission)
- No leather seats
- 223000 km's
- Don't know how good of a condition my car is
- Sometimes when I start my car I have to jiggle the gear shift up when in park to be able to START the car
- A/C system has to be replaced due to the enviromentally harming chemicals it uses
- Don't know how much longer the car will run from the abuse my family already put into it
- Pearl Black paintjob (I think thats what it's called.. the really shiny black)
- put white lights in
- maybe add a spoiler
- maybe add a skirt to it if I can
- get some nice 15"-16" rims
- tint windows 50-65%
- change the gear shift to the new max's or similiar if possible
Anyway whats your opinion mod it

First off accept the idea that you will have trany problems soon. so you are going to be looking at a trany rebuild somewhere around $1,500us.
If you can find a good deal, you could probably pick up some nice 16's for $700 - $800. or even better you could probably pick up a pair of 5th gen wheels pretty cheap.
as for getting the body kit, that gets kinda pricy and i wouldnt bother with it. so i say just go with the wheels.

but you can get a set of SE rims from the newmer maxiams for like 400$ /w tires, and a stillen body kit for about 500$. you can make it nice relatively cheap.

Is that the transmission?
I need a new paint job for my max the bumpers all scratched up, the door handle is peeling. Thank god no rust tho

Are there any other issues I'm going to have to face? because if everything tally's up to about $10K+, there is no real point modding it - rather get a new one. I was hoping it would only cost be at most $7K

about this "kick back"--->
when does it occur?? during 1-2 shifts
...could only be a worn front engine mount....not serious at all!
but if it is the trans than like the guys were saying, BIG $$$$$!!!!

Re: about this "kick back"--->
Well it's an AT so I'm not interacting with it heh. But since it falls between 40-55km/h and drive1 is max at about 45km/h, drive2 80km/h
I would guess yeah it happens during the shift
