Leaky sunroof

I have a 92 SE with a leaky sunroof. Is there a cure short of sealing it up all together?

You most likely have clogged drain hoses.

Thanks I appreciate that. I think this Maxima is going to be a all together different experience because of dudes on the org. It's hard to believe that I've owned six of these cars without the org.

When my sunroof was leaking, I found that the water was slipping by the front drain tube instead of going in it. So I gooped some clear silicone adhesive sealant all around the inlet of the rubber drain tube and it solved the problem.

Then years later, I found out that under HEAVY Florida downpours while my car was parked at just the right slant, the rear drain tubes were somewhat clogged and it was leak. I found some debris near the inlet and it solved it. I haven't had it leak for a year now.

If I ever have any more problems with it, I'll just try compressed air.
Or sell the car. jk

Zombie thread has risen!

Cause I'm new here and can't start a thread yet

Anyway just got a 91 3rd gen and been giving it some serious TLC. Love the thing so far. This forum has been a big help already!

So my sunroof is leaking in real heavy rain. I spent the day cleaning out the drainage system and testing the drain tubes with a hose and all that after reading about this classic problem here. I cleaned a ton of debris from the drain channels and I think it's much improved but it still drips over the passenger's seat on the drivers side when I simulate a heavy rain with the hose. I can't see back in the roof behind the sunroof at all to tell where the drain hose is or if it might be clogged and I haven't found where it empties out of the bottom behind the tires to have a look there either.

One more detail: the weather striping is about 1/2 broken off along the back and side edges and I'm wondering what I can do about that. I still have it but don't know if I can affix it back. It looks like it forms a short vertical lip around the glass pane to keep water from running along the underside of the glass due to surface tension.

Help is appreciated guys!
