I'm back in the 3rd gen forums after a 9 year hiatus(sp?).... my 91 max was stolen out of my HS parking lot back in 1999 then I bought an accord (ugh) and now I've had my 99 since '06. Just bought Tigga's car for my GF but still needs some work to get it to STOP .

I remember back in the late 90's when maxima.org was just a basic plain white page with a tier style posting (no VB!). 4th gen wheels were the hotness...

oh the memories....

Now when you tucked your spark plug wires, did you actually cut them or just stuff em?

Also, did you have any injector interference? Sometimes when spark plug wires are too close to injecotr wires, they cause a stumble.

The wires are nology Hotwires for a 300zx. They have grounds wires on each wire, no interference that I have noticed.

I have been throwing money in it for about 4 years. I pressure washed and painted the engine bay 2 years ago with the new engine install. I also spent about two days detailing and wrapping wires. Underneath the car is almost as clean. All running gear (engine, trans, exhaust, suspension, brakes) is new within the past three years. I have most af Matt's Blehmco stuff stiffening it along with the ST front and Addco rear sway bars.

She is getting painted white again with some red stripes coming off of the hood, same color as the engine, kind of like the BRE Datsun 510's of the early 70's. I think it will look good.

I doubt that I would do the R33 tails again after seeing the finished product. And after spending about 10 hours on each e36 making them match the curve of the front end, I think if I had it to do over I would simply buy the Euro lights off of ebay. I like the way they look on the cars here on the .org that have them.

If I do everything that I want to do yet, I will end up being in for around $50K.

And it will still only be worth $1500. LOL

Dude, your car is awesome, you're semi local to me and yet we've never met nor have you attended any maxima meets! I've met just about every local 3rd genner in the area...

The last line is funny cuz its true, I've spent 6k+ on mine and I wouldn't get anymore than 800 for it. N

Last summer I wanted to go to Maxus but my baby was siiting due to a bad driver and a subsequent electrical problem. Also I spent most of last summer driving a classic Mopar while the Max sat under a cover. I was able to sell the Dodge at enough of a profit to pay for this paint job. Hopefully this summer will be a different story. The last thing I want is some stupid broad to hit me again.

Yea dude, considering you got all/most of blehmcos suspension upgrades plus a few others AND considering there (might) will be a road course for maxus this year in Chicago you might wanna test out all that suspension work at the course Go pwn some 4th, 5th, and 6th gens in teh corners

I know what you mean about stupid drivers, I've been hit quite a few times over the past year, 3 times to be exact and just my luck, no one had insurance and I only have liability so non of these damages were covered

I guess I was lucky that she not only had insurance but they were pretty understanding as well. The adjuster came over and took one look under the hood and agreed that blue book was not gonna cover my car. What sucked is that she hit me one week after I got the tails done. I got to drive it once. At least she clipped the front and not the new tails.

Honestly Brian, I would only be surprised if you DID like it. You never like anything. You are truly the embodiment of why they call it "putting in your two cents worth".

Your car is UNIQUE and appealing. It's UNLIKE MOST of the reminaing 3rd gen. that ALL possess ONE theme / one look. I'll give you tons of credit for being creative in your OWN way rather than following with "just another max" and more IMPORTANTLY being your "own" person regardless of the ridiculing.

I do bel. SOME people here have an orgasmic reaction everytime they criticise another.

Good luck man!

Hahaha damn Brian he got you there!

Dude it doesnt look bad but its def not my thing, in my own personal opinion I liked what you had going on before that better, you know, the lil black strip with a lil red one by the rocker panel

quasi racing stripes on fwd 4 dr sedan are rarely going to come out looking good IMO.
the kind of look you are going for died out years ago, but if it floats your boat...

Brian I am glad you did not get offended. I was only teasing. I agree it is a look from five years ago or more, but I started with a version of the BRE Datsun 510 from the early 70's. I love that car but didn't think the red on top blue on bottom stripe would look good with the hood. So I went with this look.

CMax, I also liked the old paint job but I was tired of it and it was actually rattlecan in the driveway. I hate the dark rockers on every Maxima. And white is just too much by itself.

the white rockers look like a body kit almost in that pic.

[ot]BTW I used to have a model camaro that I made in the 80s that I painted the interior LIME green with a black body and candy ruby stripes similar to those.
Dammed if I know what happened to it.[/ot]
