Sorry to loose you as a member of the forum

But if your new car is not a 3rd generation maxima, don't bother posting pics here, they belong in the other cars forum.

find an org member near you that can help. there's no excuse for a tranny and injectors to cost that much. You can get that crap for way cheaper somehow.

There is still a solid $1000 for parts out of that $4200-$4600, though. Its not fair to expect everyone to reinvest, but I would avoid GM.

Still, doing this yourself or with an .org member's help will help you learn TONS. A year ago I was where you are, and chose to repair/learn. Also, keep in mind that if you buy the parts and do the labor yourself, you'll restore your car's equity by far more than you'll end up spending.

hah, I look at things differently when trouble comes my way...

Crap Tranny = 5-Speed Swap
Bad Injectors = "Dad, I need a parts car... "

5-speed max with new injectors, low miles = Sex

Also, PLEASE stay away from GM. Older GM's (mid 80's and before) Were okay, but seriously....

my 15 year old Maxima feels more solid than most of all the newer chevs...

I've got spare auto VG trans that I got from Alex V last year and I never used it. He claims it ran perfect never slipped and shifted smoothly, even has a mount on it still in case you're interested it has 166,000 miles...I'm trying to get rid of it ASAP and cheap. As for the injectors most shops here in chicago charge 140-160 range on LABOR. Injectors themselves are about 120 each so I dont see a justification for you to get rid of it or get a new car.

Injectors from Nissan 120x6 is 720 + 160 for labor = $880 and you can +- 50 to that price.

Transmissions I've seen they usually go for anywhere from $1,000 to 2,200. I personally got mine for $800 installed with 12,000/12 month warranty but normal price was 1300.

Assuming you did it all at a shop here, it'd run you 1300+880 aka 2180. Or you could just get tranny at a shop and do injectors yourself with the help of someone.

no amount of savings from your grandpa's discount is worth this. If you were gonna get something besides nissan at least do it with dignity. I'm driving an oldsmobile right now but a) my grandpa's spare car cuz my max is not finished with repairs yet and b) it's an old 80s RWD cutty so it's not really included in Maxshima's plea

A COBALT? WTF WAS UR MAX LEAKING FUMES INTO THE CABIN AREA? C'mon at least a used Civic, or Sentra, or Accord, or something! Here is some food for thought:
Supercharged Cobalt = 200 HP N/A 4cyl Accord 190 HP

I know ur cobalt isn't supercharged but...yeah

cadavalier / crapalier = no respect from anybody...I believe the car you drive (if you have any choice in the matter) reflects who you are...so, are you a cheaply made econobox?
