Please let us know the "where when and how" on this mod..

 

i wish to help on "where when & how"on that mod...(after yrs of looking for one)but i got it off other 3rd gen...i stop the guy & asked if he were selling it.he asked me how much i want to pay.i told him $75.he told me $100.i told him sold.it's not easy to come off,it's on with windshield glue for life.

 

i would be so down for one of those. someone needs to start making em

I like how some of you painted the back tail light section but I like how some leave the back up white light across the bottom. So all they do is just paint the red part. Looks sweet though!

 

I remember seeing a maroon 3rd gen here with the same roof spoiler on it. I think it was from Australia. Can anyone back me up on this?

You are correct.

That thing is not cool though, it's like the sunroof shade, pointless, ugly, and most likely problematic (ie: moss underneath and leaves permanent markings on your car).

look closer...he didnt simply paint the back section he shaved the plastic piece. Painted rear center sections look like butt...the way he did it (shave it) looks good and is the correct way of doing it.

I am surprised no one has commented on his molded in kit or door moldings (then again I havent read the whole thing someone may have). That is a very dangerous thing to do...one bump and its a good chance it will crack but it looks different (in a good sort of way). Not my style but nicely done.

Yeah everything looks good, after work I'll lift my engine out and install them while doing everything else (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=541287). I am surprised that that the 6 bolts are enough to hold the plenum down without the support of the rear brackets, but if you and others have been driving for a while with these then I'm sure it will be fine.

 

Oh yeah, the six Grade 8 bolts are plenty enough to hold the UIM on. I just tell people not to jump on top of the intake manifold. lol Support brackets are the first thing I remove when working on customers' car. I hand them the brackets in a zip lock bag and say, "Your car will now be that much easier to work on in the future without these useless support brackets".

 

I wasnt worried about the weight of it. Without the brackets it can oscillate, similar to a diving board. As long as engine vibrations dont hit any of its fundamental frequencies it will be OK. Those are probably too high for the engine to resonate it, and given that you and others already put down many miles on these, I have no worries.

 

I, myself have put over 80K miles on my car without using these brackets. Many others have done the same too. It's just nothing to start a thread about.

it gets better. Look what he did with the bumpers and bodykit. 100% smooth as a baby's rear. No seams whatsoever. That's what I'm talking about.

see what happened was I posted that comment in the Great Picture Thread but it was mod-removed since comments are not allowed in there. I talked to mod and they explained what my posts got deleted for, so I put it here instead. But i personally really like it, risky or not.

So you only want pics of 3rd gens with beautiful scenery? I don't have any of those. All I have is pics of a dirty old white 3rd gen capable of 12s with an empty field in the background!

I like the look of the spoiler. I will keep it on as long as I can until it starts to peel, then I'll just rip it off. Or I'll put it on the hood of the car for added downforce on the drive tires.
