because of the type they are completely different:

they have covers that already seal them up. so there is no extra need to seal them. but putting them in is a PITA, and i really don't recommend it because of how much u have to cut away. unfort i did this before our euro lenses came out which would of been perfect. retro a hid bixenon set in them, then you can always put your stock lights in. i wish i did that. I am happy with my set up. but I cant go back ya know? so they are already sealed. they have caps.

i understand but i asked if you have pics of the back of your headlights after you did your retrofit? that way i can see how you approached it by sealing the back up for the xenons.

yeah. but those arent the bulbs i use. theb ulbs i use are more expensive than even the bmw ones, you either have phillips 85122, 85122+ or Osrams. I use Phillips 85122 YX which are the only OEM 3000k yellow bulbs. they are 225 each shipped from germany, i found em on hidplanet for 140$ for the pair and snagged them right up. I am currently trying to retro fx projectors into the high beam slots and use the tsx's for fogs. anyhow. green ima send u a PM with my cell number I can tell you anything you want and I can probably help you a lot with your HID buying stuff since i find alot of good deals.

eh, I got blinded by someone with lights that color last week. Not so much by the intensity, but by the distracting color. I would almost certainly stick between 3500/4000 up to about 5000k if/when I go for the HID retro.

i have a semifunctional speedo you can have if you pay for shipping.... basically it is in the general area of the speed you're going, but not entirely exact.

because it's less broken, therefore, better.

but uh, he'd only have to pay a couple bucks for shipping so $5 for that isn't too terrible

you do that and also take pics. a lot of pics since some people here sometimes have a hard time understanding how to approach it.

what's the part number for the equivalent 3500ish-4300ish K bulb? (they don't have one for every hundred ex 3500, 3600, 3700 do they?)

you don't want circles... you want a wide rectangle. circles don't show you much, and the top half of those circles blind traffic.

mine's like

_____/|_____..._____/|_____

except the flatness is on the bottom, not the top. and it's got like, curvature it's not as straight as that little pic there. but that's when i'm close to a wall

I don't have HIDs or projectors. Stock housings with Sylvania 9007XVs, aimed WAY outward. The driver side light has a real stupid looking angle relative to the front of the hood.

Ok, so instead of asking about Retrofits in a new thread, ive decided to bump this thread.

After reading all of the posts, ive become confused out of my damn mind.

-Whats the simplest way to do these in my 3rd gen?
-Whats the 1st thing i should purchase??

It just seemed like everybody had different opinions on how to do it. I just want the easiest way...

FYI - Here is my source for the absolute cheapest pricing on clear wade covers for anyone trying to do a nice clean retrofit from E36 headlights. $45 out the door.
