Body kits....What is everyone's opinion??

Hey guys. First off, yes I have searched through the whole d-board so I am not a slacker! I need some help. I thought I had my body kit choices narrowed down to 2 but now I can't decide! What do you guys think of the Wings West, Stillen and Erebuni type 111 (looks a little like a BMW). I never liked the Stillen kit before, due to the fact that it seems somewhat plain for $800! Though, after seeing some pics of it on certain cars, I began to like it more. Though, there is also the evasive Erebuni type111 kit. So far I have only seen 3 pics of it. There are these 2 http://www.erebunicorp.com/ge/nissmax89.htm (on the top) and the attached pic. I have not seen anything else about it but it does seem a little better than most of the kits, since it breaks up the square profile (somewhat) and gives it almost a BMW look (the 2 white pics do at least). Last but not least, there is the Wings West kit, which I have ignored for the most part. Though, it certainly looks cool with the dual exhaust cutouts (if you custom add dual exhaust!) and despite the square profile it looks pretty nice. Here is a pic from Blake's website (I think that's his name):
http://216.218.233.126/blake/sxwk1.jpg Sorry to Blake and the owner of the car to just use the pic like that! ;-)
Please help someone because I can't decide!

IMO Stillen kit is the best, not too muxh flare and not boxy at all...if you can find a "Stillen reseller" maybe they can get a lower price for you.

Why does everyone say that?!?!?!?! :-) I always hear people say the Stillen is the best but it looks a little too plain for my $800! I wish someone had more info on the more uncommon ones like the Erebuni and WW.

well IMO and probably many of the other guys...we like the "subtleness" of the Stillen kit, rather than the boxy or extreme flare out of the other kits...heres how I feel about the other kits:

erebuni- first one is nice, too much flare in the rear and sides; the second one is okay too, but the rear valence looks like its straight out of the 80's

kaminari- looks like straight crap, costs $1k+ and looks like some 1980's Miami Vice BS crap, wouldn't put that on my car if they paid me

spoilers etc.- (http://www.spoilersetc.net/Nissan/maxima-8994.asp) a little too much flare on the sides and the front is hideous, the rear is decent though for dual conversions

Wings west- looks like the above kit, but same ugly boxy front, sideskirts are okay though

so yes Stillen kit is the best in my opinion, no flared out sideskirts or boxy front ends, nice and "rounded" all around! so IMO, its the BEST looking kit out there and I plan to get the sideskirts and rear(I already have the front) this winter! if you had been around 2 years ago you could have got the entire kit for $450....those were the days when Stillen was cool!!

Personally, I really like the Erebuni type111 because it has decent side skirts (reminds me of a BMW) and the front is much more agressive though, the rear sucks and is very plain. I think the Stillen looks great overall though, I don't like how plain the front is. I don't exactly want a Shogun front bumper or anything but I'd like a little more flair while keeping it still somewhat subtle. Has anyone examined the possibility of custom fitting a kit from another car. I know mounting points among many other things would be different. Though, if you take a look at the BMW e34 5 series (528i, 540i, etc) they are VERY similar to the Maxima. I even double checked and the dimensions are very similar to the 3rd gen Max's, with only a couple inches difference overall. Here is an example: http://www.14theweb.co.uk/zbmw.html Now, that is not exactly the best body kit but you get the idea. I just wish I could find out if there are any manufacturers in Japan that make any body kits for 3rd gen's. I imagine there are at least a few. Most of the importers I have talked to were extremely un-helpful. I guess I'll just have to choose from what there is. I'm leaning towards the Erebuni type111 or Wings West. I think I should just buy 3-5 Maximas and put each body kit on them so that I can drive a different one ever so often!

Thank you for doing a detailed job of comparing. I had never seen the spoulers etc. one, but it is cheap, and has a GREAT back end.

thanks.

Spyhunter, if you know of a good body shop in your area, talk to them. I talked to a good one in my city and they said the best way is to order through them and that they could get the separate parts. Probably because they are a business.

beware of these oline shops who sell performance parts, many ofthem drop ship items and you won't get the products for months.
