I know it means 4 door sports car but why do some have it and others don't? My wife's 89 doesn't, daughter's 93 does, the donor car doesn't. Was it just something for the later 3rd gens or what?

I know it has to be here somewhere but search but only came up with peoples screen names.

 

They all had the sticker put on at the factory,lots of people/kids in the back seat simply peel them off.

 

the first time i saw it from a distance (that being, the first time I ever saw a 3rd gen... which I am fairly certain is the actual car I later bought, just years earlier) i assumed it meant 4-disc brakes. but as it was a GXE, and I looked down at the back wheels and saw drums.. I leaned in to the sticker better and re-read the small words under it. But i am pretty sure the car I saw that day was a pearlwhite GXE of the 1st series.

 

Mine didn't have them when I bought it...

 

All three Ive owned have had them, I even gave two to triplegmax or some one else.

But yea they all had them some just get taken off for tint reasons or them flaking off or kids being bored.

Hmm, was this a 3rd gen thing only? My father had a 96' back in the day that i drove for the past month or so (rip ) and i never saw it.

Yea when I get the Max painted I want to get new stickers back on, where do you get them from?

 

My 92 SE had them. When I got my window's tinted, the tint guy was kind enough to give them to me. I kept them for a while but eventually the wife threw them away.

 

I don't think you can get them from anywhere. I got mine specially made from erty67 because he's awesome.

Hah, maybe if enough people are interested he'll start making them as regulars to go along with the "maxima.org" and "Shift_xxx" stickers. Or maybe he already has, I haven't looked yet, either way... might be worth looking into.

 

or if i can get a high resolution pic of it, I can get them made at a printer/banner/sticker shop.

 

I'll be sure to pick up a .org sticker when i get the max .

my 4DSC stickers were peeled from my car when the tint was put on too... I was so sad when I found out (about 1.5 years later while I was washing the car).

So, I just bought some forum stickers and put 'em there instead

I've seent thew white on clear "OK" sticker before... what does that mean? The emissions?

 

I think it was probably a final check on the assembly line before the car was shipped. I got rid of them ASAP....so cheesy looking.

 

In New Zealand the 3rd gen Maxima wasnt known as a 4-door sports car. Have a magazine advert for the U12 Bluebird (Altima in US?) by Nissan New Zealand, that says they are the 4-door sports car with the 4DSC logo after it. The advert is from 1992

 

My 87 had them but my 89 and 85 don't (all SE) so it's not just a 3rd gen thing

Yeah, that whole thing about Nissan putting those stickers on the back window out of all places seems very weird.
