VG30e...just like yours.

Just go to a junk yard that has a 2nd gen laying around and buy there Intake manifold and you should be good to go!

I don't think they flow any better than ours though...I think the only ones that would be an improvement would be the z31 IM's but I believe they are too high and cause our hood's not to shut. I could be wrong though...

See my location: cant do that

What would be the price level if smbdy did that and sent it over?

Flow: possibly so; anyways better starting point for modding than sheet metal.

there was one at my JY when i went this past saturday...... yours if you want it. personally i'm more interested in testing out a VE-5 intake on a VE... not sure if there's ANY chance of that happening or not.... but i figure if i can get one for cheap i've got a spare (broken) VG sitting around that i can play around with. and now that aaron's blown up his engine he'll have a VE spacer kit lying around...

Just did valve cover gasket and replaced 4 injectors. Sanded and polished the manifold a little also.

dear God... the end of an era...
And to think, just 3 weeks ago I was sitting in that car, albeit pulling parts off and putting them on my car.... but what a sight it was. My car will never have its soul, but at least its heart beats on in mine...

Good luck Tim.... Keep peeking around for threads by me as I finish your hood and put those headlights on... I hope I can continue your vision in a direction that'll make you proud.

Nikon D90

Tip: If you want to know which brand camera, along with all the cameras settings to get that particular picture..just save the picture to your pc, right click the picture/properties/details..

for instance, your bmw pic was taken with a Sony DSC-P72

Oh one more thing, older cameras or cell phone camera pics usually will not leave their "signature" so to speak inthe body of the picture, so this won't work for all pictures.

I'm not far behind you! Working 2.5 months straight, 10 hrs a day minimum and just 2 days off in that period slow down even an expert...I've fixed and modded at least 4 cars in the last 45 days and the VG still have a few ignition mods I need to perform and an exhaust bolt on, hate those factory log manifolds...cylinders 4 & 6/1 & 3 flow against each other. I'll give those Pacesetters a try!!!....................... (Matt where ya at?)

did you paint your exhaust manifolds? Goon had painted mine, but it still wasn't enough. Only thing still black is the flanges.

but ah.. i still got to yank my LIM from the scrap motor and paint that... we used my intake manifold, which is nasty and ugly, when we put the motor in. but i have a spare... just waiting for a warm enough weekend to spray it.

NO! I'm going with Ceramic coated Pacesetter headers, the stock manifolds are restrictive and crude. I did paint the LIM, the Plemun collector adapter (1200 degree Aluminum silver for it's refective characteristics) and I'm prepping the Plemun for 1200 degree semi gloss black dupli-color. It's got some good ceramic properties in it for $5.99 a can and I'm using the hell out of it. The engine I've built has a Isky 258 cam, along with alot of porting and port matching to keep the intake velocity high and torque high as well. The Computer has been modded by JWT and the bore is a .5mm larger, the bottom end has been balanced along with ARP rod bolts added for insurance at it's new 7000 rpm redline. I'm junking that POS Oem Nissan coil ( I hate Epoxy Coils) for an old school heavy duty oil filled coil with a control box either Mallory or Petronix! The Intake is a JWT POP filter breathing thru an enclosed cold air box, and the battery is going in the trunk. Once through with the Intake plenum and Headers I'll install the engine back in the car....

Do a search on those pacesetters before dumping the $$ on them. I've read a lot of bad mojo on them not fitting properly and what not.

On a topic related note, I really really want to post my VG but the engine bay is ridiculously dirty and I'm too sissy to take a pressure cleaner to the engine bay. And by dirty I mean a lot of grease caked on everywhere. I tried to tackle it with some bug/tar remover, but that stuff is really stuck on (had to use a screwdriver with a rag covering the head to get rid of the grease.) Might get someone who does it locally though.

I've had pretty good luck with my several Pacesetter exhaust upgrades on several different vehicles...as a pretty good auto/aviation tech ( yrs back in the day), I'm positve it's the installers who had the mojo. What I don't understand is....If they had problems, Pacesetter warranties their workmanship. I had 2 returns in all the exhaust products I've installed...One was a 4x4 exhaust on a 2x4 truck (That was Summits fault) the other was a air fitting position slightly off! No problem...had the replacement header within 3 days no extra cost out of my wallet... So I'll do it.... cause let's face it! The stock log manifold absolutely sucks....it can't out flow those Pacesetter headers! It's no way in hell! Not even if Matt torched them.....

i heard the reason the pacesetter headers have issues specifically on vg maximas is because they designed them for the z31 and then just modified them, instead of designing them for the maxima specifically.

Valve covers are reversed...I see you installed bolts on your exhaust manifold instead of studs....

Problem is that the grease is super, super thick. My engine bay has NEVER been clean, and my dad (who works on my car) isn't exactly the kind of guy who cars about a clean engine bay (since it'll just get dirty again). I've had luck with bug/tar removed, but only with a screwdriver and a rag covering the head. I've heard of stuff like purple power and the like that is extremely strong against caked on grease, but I'm worried about the paint getting messed up.

what paint? valve covers just let soak in and then wash it down after about 5 minutes. I think i used Grease Lightning before didn't like it since it turned everything white but once you spray WD-40 then it'll look like new again.
