Well,i can tell you from experience that 150+miles with only 1/4 of a tank used is not typical gas mileage of the ve. I consistantly get about 420-450 miles to a tank highway, much less around town.

Mine drops very slowly from Above the fuel line to halfway, about 270 miles worth, then I get another 150 from the rest of the tank... city highway mixed driving. I've gone 150 miles strictly highway before and been at 3/4.

Well, see, what I didn't tell everyone....this is on the highway. And I know this much, it is killing my old VG on gas mileage. Hell, I never got more than 25mpg. I agree with 94maxshima, my VG appeared to get great mileage the first half of the tank, but dropped off from there to empty. But I do not remember ever getting that many miles before. I am just tickled with it right now. I am sure the new will wear off soon...........nah, I doubt it.

Around town I sucked a 1/8 tank out of it due to the sound of my breather with the "beast" under the hood. It is just SO hard to keep the foot out of it.

Well, the powerband is taking some getting used to though. It doesn't seem to pull as strong down low like the VG, but once it hits around 3K....hang on.

I don't know your mods, but.... ASP Underdrive, Fidanza Flywheel, and a Warpspeed Y-pipe....

There is no more 1-3k rpms

Right now she is bone-stock, but I did buy SurraTT's UDP. All those mods are on my wish list.

What do you mean "no more 1-3K rpms"?

With the ASP and Fidanza the engine will have much less lag on it. Meaning the powerband will come at you much quicker, idle to 3000 rpms will come and go almost like nothing...

then from there you have a Variable Intake Manifold, VTC's, and Y-pipe for high end.....

edit: CAI will also give low end a little more bite... at least it feels like it anyway...

What you say makes sense, sorta like the timing is not being advanced properly. As in when it does pick up it is like a demon. Maybe when you come down we can possibly advance the timing too.

eh, even when I had mine bypassed. the VE didn't come alive until after 3k.
my EJ on the other hand has most of it's torque down low, so I don't need to go over 3k most of the time. that does take some of the fun out of driving though

This thread is not about a VQ30 or a VQ35 swap..This thread is in the stickies for people interested in doing a VG to VE swap.

Hmmmm.... Can't wait! Be sure to also post multiple clear pics of the engine bay from far away and close up. Let's see what you did with the engine mounts. Did you do the work yourself? If so, you better get ready to give everyone here a decent write up.

Good luck

Don't think i forgot you guys, i have just been busy taking care of all the little glitches i've been having with the car. It was running very rich so i had to install my 3rd o2 sensor and a catalytic converter. When it was idling, every few seconds it would change from 750- about 950 rpm, and i was getting a egr solenoid problem fault. All this was happening because i was missing my EGR temp sensor. It's running so smooth right now, i can't even believe my eyes. it idles 750-780 RPM from the scanner reading, but the tach needle doesn't even jerk, perfect. I'll be taking so pics and a video soon.

Okkkaaaayyyyyyy....... ?? So, where are the pics? I suggest you post nothing further without first posting some HARD EVIDENCE pics, or even better yet Video (showing the whole car with you, and the running engine up close).

But, if it's real, congrats on the idle fix
