Just for everyones info.I just purchased a used engine from a place called Japan Direct. The engine is awesome. It looks like brand new,and came complete right down to a new oil filter, already on.They claim their engines to have between 30 and 40k.

I paid $1580.00 plus $80.00 shipping for the VE30DE
Try using a search engine for them.If no luck I will get phone number off of my receipt.

I dont know if that's BS or not, but I GUARANTEE you that there is no way it has only 30-40k. Is the engine re-built or what? Warranty? Etc?

Typical

A JDM engine, even up to 10 years old with 30-40K miles is not uncommon.

It takes about 10 years to hit 60k miles in Japan, and that's if you drive your car regularly, which not everybody in Japan does.

I presume the $80 shipping is the shipping charge from Japan Direct (Company) located somewhere in the U.S. to your door, not from JAPAN to your front door.

I just bought a 8.0 liter Viper Engine directly from France after the Le Mans ended... Only a few thousand miles on it and shipping was only $25.00.

if theres not a site let me know the number my 92se has 181 (runs perfect. Mechanic owned) but a back up with 30-40k to work while its out of the car would be nice. anyone have any idea how much it would be to swap two identical motors?

just a suggestion. I was going to buy a used japanese transmission from a place in grand junction and also a place called a.s.a.p. motors. I'm glad i checked the better business burea site first because everyone one of these japanese places had an unsatifactory record with many complaints such as not standing behind their warranty, credit card overcharing, etc. How do you know it is not just a washed of used engine. I'm just offering my opinion, if your engine that you got runs great than you got a great deal! Always check with bbb.com before you spend any large amount of money anywhere.
