rs50a tranny wont stuck in 1st or 2nd but shifter is in neutral???
Tranny is pretty fresh and after installed it I moved through the gears and it was all fine. I was under the hood and had a friend go to start it and all of a sudden he went to shift and the shifter pulled back to neutral but think the for is still engaged in 1st or 2nd try to move car and it is in gear! Is there any way to get it unstuck without pulling the tranny?
First off... I had a really hard time comprehending your question, if there was one.
It sounds like you didn't install the shifter linkage correctly. Did you replace all bushings when you were under the car? More information about your problem would help shed some insight on your problem.

Sounds like you didn't install the check ball system properly. You're probably missing the check ball pin or one or more of the check *****.
You'll have to crack the case again...

Check ball? You have to have the shifter in a certain place when you install the transmission?.....
I am confused. I just put my tranny in... obviously I missed something. I didnt take apart any shift linkage.
Why, I've done it about 5 times...
I don't want to explain what a check ball is or does.
LOL
If you didn't unbolt the shift linkage, you wouldn't have been able to remove the tranny.
He said that he went through all of the gears and then it got stuck in 1st or 2nd while the shifter was in the neutral position. If he didn't hold the shifter in the correct position when he put the case back together, he wouldn't have been able to shift into ANY gear...

ive noticed when inside and putting case on best to shift it into 1st the putting case on otherwise the case will shift it into 1st by bumping something inside. but i did it right cause soon it worked fine for a while. just going to pull tranny again turbo is in the way big time.
