Is this worn springs?

I put new stuts on the Max a few months ago. I put what my budget could afford and I didn't expect a sporty ride. However, the front end bottoms out all the time. It hits when it definitly shouldn't. Before, when the struts were bad, the car would bottom out and bounce up and down. Now, it just bottoms and then settles with minimal bouncing. Someone said it may be bad springs.

Well, crawl up under there and see if the spring is broken anywhere (especially at the top). Look at the car on level ground and see if it sits funny. If you don't see a break and it looks level, you probably have a defective strut.

i call it GXE springs. they are softer than SE ones, unless i'm dead wrong.

coil-binding is a condition where the coils of a coil spring are PHYSICALLY touching, ie, spring is FULLY compressed

What brand struts did you replace with? I'm assuming monroes or gabriels, either way if the spring is not physically broken, then you most likely have a defective strut. It should still be under warranty.

no help was there to be given.
but buying gabriels off ebay 9 out of 10 times is a close out deal and leaves one without a warranty which is s ****ty place to be, Hence the "it sucks to be you" comment

gabriel struts are crap anyway...
sorry you're in this situation, but the crap struts are the problem. especially on the front end where there's 2200lb on the front axle. save up your pennies and buy at minimum some KYBs for the front.

Just get junk yard FULL assemblies, swap em over and call it a day, oh and pray the JY struts are better.

I second Brians comment except I'm gonna make "*****" the second word of that sentence.

A.) free fix
B.) my story with jy struts.... if you go this route, try to examine what youre getting, and get familiar with some struts before you go...
