I have a white , 91 se, and i am looking for some advice from you guys.WHat kind of tint looks best with a white car. I am pretty sure i am going witgh 20% all around,except for the windshield. What do you guys think about graphite mirror tint? Thanks guys.

you should also consider the laws regarding tints in your area. mayb just ask an officer when you pass by one. i initially wanted 20% but since i live in nyc i rather stay ticket-free. i have 35% and it's fine with me. 20% would look better with my black max tho but i dun want to worry if i see a cop car or wutnot when i'm driving

 

My max is white too. IF you have a dark interior I say go with 35% because your interior will make it seem darker. I had 35% and everyone thought I had 20 or 15%. but it's up to you.

Of course, Black. Black tint will really set off your car. It will look much better than mirror. White cars look awesome with black tint...5% if you can. Look at my sig....looks good, don't it?

I don't know if you can tell, but my tint is 35%. I kinda wish it was a little darker though like 20%. Of course, I can always have them redo it for free since I have a lifetime warranty. I think black is the way to go with a white car.

Thanks guys, Most likely as long as my parents let me,( I am 17). They think i am wasting my money on tints. i am going to get 20% all around ,except windsheild. How long did the tint shops, tell you to wait to roll down your windows.

 

Most will tell you to not roll the windows down for 48 hours. As a suggestion, I have a white 93 se and I went 35% all the way around and put a strip on the windshield and I think the white cars look great like that.

 

can you buy mirror tint anywhere? ive been thinking about mirror tint on my black max.

I havent seen it in any of the auto stores around here, but i know most tint shops have it.

 

i got a 10% black tint on my max and i love it! no one can see inside my car from the outside. i also have a strip across the top of my winshield.

my only complaint is that at night, if i am backing up i can't see what is behind me unless there are street lights, and here in kentucky there are tons of places with no lights!

 

Yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm thinking about putting lights under my bumper or something that come on when I put my car in reverse! Do you think that would be cool or stupid? It would at least help me backing down my driveway at night.

 

put a manual switch on those reverse lights if you add them.. you dont want them to come on every time you put it in reverse.. you'll look like a dork.. even worse, a dork who cant drive!

im not knocking your idea, its a good one, and id do it if i had money to throw around, but i think you'll be kicking yourself if you wire it to come on every time you are in reverse.

ps, anyone find a vendor selling mirron tint yet?

i really dont think the mirror will look too bad on your white car only if you put chrome rims on it. with white, i think the black tint would look better.
if you have a black car, i would go with the two tone. it doesn't contrast it as much as all mirror. with some chrome rims, the se tinted tails and a bagless grille with black mesh with some chrome rims. that would be tight. thats how i had my jetta before it got stolen. it was tiiiiiiight.

Haha, no offense taken. I like that switch idea, so simple and yet it didn't even cross my mind. Anyway, I'll definitely throw some cheap lights back there when I'm finished with school.

 

Don't get mirror tints...those look real cheezy no matter what car/color you have.

 

Hmm, yeah I thought mirror tints went out along with mirror tinted sunglasses (damn u Tom Cruise!)....

 

What do you guys think about changing the percent of tints from the front windows to the rear, say like either 35% up front,20% back, or 20%front and 5%back
