nie rims, they look like ADR koseis, what size are they?

if you run blue headlights, you'll most likely need a wiring harness upgrade, or you'll keep burning your hanesses. most of the "xenon" charged bulbs are going to look bluish/whitish, the PIAA super plazma bulbs look puprlish/blue. hiper makes some nice blue light blubs, other than that, just look around.

to avoid buying new harness wires. you can always just cut the ground wire, and From the bulb, use that ground wire coming out of the bulb harness and ground that directly into the chassis of the car, so the ground can discharge much faster.

it is recommended that u buy after market harness's from like auto zone or any local auto parts store.

Say Eiss4, nice rims! Do you have stock suspension? I've been on a hunt for pics of 17" wheels on stock springs lately just to see how they look. (Sorry no info for your question)

Bman, from what I've heard my car is gonna look like a 4X4 Maxima, which I guess some people would find good, but I'm not really into offroading in 2wd 4d sedans... hehe, so I'm guessing you should get it dropped if you get rims, I'm gonna asap.

I put up some links on the BBS, (I assume then that you are "Your Mom" ) so go see for yourself. Based on those pics, that's why I was thinking eiss4's car isn't lowered.

Blue headlamps

eiss4,

Good lookin' Max!

As far as the 'blue' tinted headlamps, I read somewhere (either here or somewhere else) that headlamps with a blue tint do not provide as much illumination as white bulbs do.

I have installed the Sylvania CoolBlues (since I first got my Max), but they don't look blue, but they're a brighter white light than the stock ones I had. I'm sure there's plenty of folks that have 'em, but I'll stick with the whitest & brightest.

Sylvania Cool blues from auto zone have no blue tint, I've had several people complain about those! I even had them, a waste IMO. I have been running some Naxos 100/80 Xenon plasma blue in my beemer lights for a while now. Very impressed and visability was increased. Ground has never got warm, of course I do have new harnesses with the BMW conversion. If anyone wants prices on the Naxos, I can also get the harnesses if anyone wants them. Run a search for the blue lights and you should find a post, in general, any of these "high-wattage xenxon" bulbs which produce a superwhite light other than the CoolBlues and possibly the PIAA Xtreme whties will make visiblity harder at night, esp in the rain. Blue light has a shorter wavelength and gets absorbed by the rain, that's why your visiblity will be almost nothing. You may get an "increase" in some light, but that's because you're bulb is putting light out differently. you may be able to see further, but the width of your visblity will be less than before. so, i guess what i'm saying is...those bulbs look good but are not useful

i was running some xenon filled headlights that were called Vision Laser White. they had a bunch of gook writing all over the box. they had a real nice blue tint to them. one of the bulbs blew when i was flashing my brights though. i got these other ones the other day that had the same "xenon" sticker on them, but they aren't as blue, so i'm kinda bummed. they're called Heliolite by lumiko. straight up english on the box. they're bluer than piaa superwhites, but not a blue as the other ones i had.

i guess the moral of the story is, if you want blue, you'll probably be buying an inferior product, but they look tight! oh, try looking at any chinese supermarket, that's where i get mine. :P

what are u talking about inferior products, all the bright and blue ones are the japanese ones, the others ones like PIAA that are DOT approved are never gonna be as blue as the others because PIAA are DOT and DOT means not blue, because blue is illegal, ive had APC's Hyper industry, and nokya (super purple), they are all good

what are you talking about? anything that has a TRUE blue tint to it is illegal on a 9004 bulb. no company will make a TRUE quality bulb(9004) with a TRUE blue tint to it, since no one in their right mind will pay for it. piaas are top of the line quality, but are $80. any blue 9004's will be around $40. people aren't going to invest their money in a product that will get them a ticket and give poorer visability.

yeah, anything that's DOT isn't going to be blue, i agree with you on that.

but the majority of the bulbs that ARE illegal are not a durable and often blow quicker. my friend witha 4th gen and i have found that out. we've gone through a couple pairs of headlights each.

hmm perhaps ur right on that, well i had a pair of apc, 100/80 for about a year, and one blew out, but that was my fault buy not letting the filament cool off fast enough, i dunno i think they WONT last as long as normal watt bulbs but they do last long enough just as long u dont mess with them too a lot

don't forget to put in a flux capacitor or two in. that will save you tons of burnt out blubs and wires

Re: Blue headlamps

ding ding ding we have a winner!!!!!!

the human eye is less sensitive to blue light. thus 50 w of blue or purple light will not appear to be as bright as the same wattage of red, yellow or "white" light. green will appear brighter than blue, but dimmer than the others.

every body will see this differently as there are different concentrations of rods and cones in each individuals eyes, but for the most part these trends hold true.
