Need to Unhook AT Oil Cooler Lines (2) - Will it drain and how long can it sit empty?

I need to replace the rad this week...so 2 questions:

a) When I unhook the AT Oil Cooler lines will fluid drain (I want to replace the hoses & rad), and if it does, can I leave the car empty (sitting) for a week or two without tranny oil?

c) If I drain the coolant from the car, can I leave the car empty (sitting) for a week or two without coolant in it until I get into putting the new Rad in?

neither should be a problem as long as the car is not started or moved. think about this: when you pull an engine or tranny from a junk yard car (or more specifically, a yard does it, and it sits on a shelf before its bought), no special work is really done. its just yanked out, and set somewhere to await its next use.

yeah it's no worse than having a VE and getting new axles, only to find out they gave you the wrong ones and your car had to sit w/o axles for a few days while they got the right ones shipped in. trans is "open" sort of b/c there's no axles in it.. doesn't hurt anything

order the axles from the professionals next time

to the OP:
enough fluid is left in the system at different points that it will be fine to sit for the short period without issue.
Personally I wouldn't take anything apart until the new parts are in.

Thanks dudes - and what about the AT Oil Cooler Hoses. When I remove those to measure them for the new replacements...or to put the new replacements in, will all or half of my tranny fluid start draining out?
