TRANNY PROBLEM??????

Hey Gent's, this is what I got. i was driving on I-10 for about a 1 1/2 hrs. Got off the exit ,came to a stop. When I pulled off, the car didn't want to pull. I had the pedal the . RPM stuck at about 2k. It slowly made it way to 5, 6, 7 8,9 ect MPH and then when it shifted, it shifted hard of course and ran normal until I slowed to a stop again and it did the same thing, While running about 75MPH on the interstate, it was running kind of iffy, I made it home and then about an hour later, I checked the fluid, everything's okay. I drove it and now i can't get it to duplicate again. I drove it 2 hrs yesterday at high speeds , no symptoms. ANY SUGGESTIONS????

it may have triggered failsafe (turning the key off and back on clears failsafe until it is trigged again)... look for the procedure to run diagnostics on your TCU (tranny control unit). How fresh is your fluid?

also there was one documented case of a weak engine causing the car to accelerate like crap, but because the driver was flooring the pedal to get the thing to go at all, it shifted hard, but still accelerated like molasses. it was his mechanic's fault for installing something wrong which killed his power output. but this is a very rare situation b/c of all the factors that would have to come into play at the same time.

and then there's the possibility that something broke partially, and will finish breaking soon, and will leave you stranded. and with a $2000 tranny shop bill.

also... was it ever able to rev past that 2000ish rpm? how about in neutral? if it won't go past 2000 (or 2300 depending if you have SOHC or DOHC engine), you have something wrong with your MAF

update

Did a engine and tranny change last year, car runs strong, I changed the fluid after I ran it for 5k. It didn't smell burnt at all. The MAF is good and i'll try to check the Throttle body but the car runs strong!
