5th gen pillow ball mounts ??
Ok guys ... I got a mind boggler for you ...
I installed a some K Sport coil overs on a 03 (5th gen) Maxima yesterday. I was thinkin of some Frankenstein Idea for us 3rd. gen guys. Being that the 5th gen strut tower bars fit our cars, that means the strut mount bolt pattern is the same right ?? Since we lack having after market support, Do u guys think that pillow ball mounts from 5th gen cars will fit 3rd. gen.struts ????
The k sport website has them listed for 4th thru 6th gen. Another thing...I look at 4th gen front struts and they look the same as ours. The face that tokico and KYB make adjustable struts.... think they`ll fit or is there something I dont see in difference??
What u guys think ?

what about the back mounts?
sure, having mounts up front sounds like a good idea, but my understanding is coilovers go on all 4 corners? why would you want coilovers up front, and some other setup in the back?
I see this as a possible "yes", but if so, why hasnt the plan been put into action, yet?

the front mounts from a 4th gen fit and have been used before. in gives like 1" of extra travel IIRC.
the problem with finding pieces for the 3rd gen suspension lies in the rear of the car.
the strut housing setup is the reason no coilover is made for it. if you want, you may be able to frankenstein a rear assembly from a camry back there and then you'd be able to have coil overs.

not talking about installing a full coil over in our cars... just the mounts so aligning the cars can be an easy task instead of camber bolts. The rear would practically be impossible to mod due to design

yeah..my car was hit before. The previous owner told me about it, Not to mention my left headlight is not completely flush w/ the grille. I also like the look and the adjustability of those pillow ball mounts. My car is dropped 1 inch ( Eibach Pro kit) and when i did my alignment, my camber was off, I tried camber bolts and ended up snapping em.
