Has anyone had any issues with their temp gauge, i have a 91 with 205k on the motor. the temp gauge is turning on and off. i check the temp sensor and it was working fine while the gauge was acting up. is this a wiring issue anyone came across or am i lucky one. tap it and turns on (sometimes). can i replace it with another nissan temp gauge or do the gauges not come apart?

 

if a tap affects the gauge, then the gauge is the problem.

 

you can individually replace odometer, trip meter, odometer drive motor, speedometer, tachometer, and the combo of fuel/temp. 91se or 91gxe? GXE i can provide the gauge... SE i'm using the only one i have that works (temp needle on my other SE cluster went bad the same way yours did)

can i buy SE gauges new or do i have to JY dive for them

 

everything is cross-compatible. it's just a matter of mismatching the font if you cross the 91/92 border. 89-91 has a different font from 92-94

 

you could buy new gauges, but they would come from nissan...
best bet would be a jy. or another member parting out.

just fyi, all gauges can be swapped with no modification (except the digital clusters, requires harness modifications)
