I've done something similar to this with my se-r. One thing I found is that my car needs only 90-100wtq to accel from 40-65 in 7sec. Basically my engine is only making around 60-65whp at 65mph. Once I unplugged a cylinder my wideband went from stoich to 18-19.x AFR, which made my ecu start dumping gas. I unplugged my o2 output to ecu and this time in open loop the ecu didn't wig out. The car was down on power and accelerated a lot slower during city driving.

With some ecu programming it could be adapted for our cars, outside of dealing with a crappy idle I believe it would help. The question is how much gas would the DOD V6 need to maintain 60mph vs non DOD.

I know of someone that did this because the engine ran pretty bad with all 6 cylinders firing at the time so he ran it with only 4. He said it was really slow but it ran smoother than when it did with 6 because of the issue he was dealing with. I'm not sure the details of the situation though.

Well if you've got a bad misfire then that might be true.

Yeah when mine wasn't hesitating and wasting gas like it is now. I got 405 miles on a tank of gas averaging 27 mpg. W00t.

It's crap like this that has driven the older members away from this forum. If you want a 4-cyl car, buy a Civic...end of story.

If you want a 4 cylinder engine, then buy one. Unplugging injectors on a 6 cylinder will not improve fuel mileage, it will unbalance the engine causing it to work harder to get up to speed.

Both my ve and vg have had injectors go down, during this time they both experienced terrible fuel mileage.
