94 maxima fuel injector
Well cleaning is what service suggest...3-4 hours labour or about 400 dollars. A new one from Japan cost about 573 dollars...if they still have them. On the service screen that it is still listed.
So i figured ...why not a new part instead of spending on labour and if that didn't solve the problem...at least i would have a new TB.....Junk yards...wow! This car only has 85000 original miles...change the oil every three throusand...now using Mobil 1 synthetic...junk yards....jeese!

you can clean your own TB in 20 minutes with a toothbrush and a can of cleaner... $5 for cleaner, and $10 for a new gasket to replace the one for the dualuct. NO reason whatsoever fo spend $500+ on what you could do yourself for $25. I just recently sold a spare TB to another member that had a broken vacuum nipple on his TB... spend to minutes cleaning it on the sidewalk w/ a toothbrush and he said the car drives like a champ now.
Appreciate your responses...the last time i tuned a car ... i used a timing light ...tach...and feeler gauge to set the points and condensors...lol... Who said...'less is more'?
Thanks again Starrider

Starrider - I also have a 94 Maxima GXE. I love mine by the way. Listen, if you are having fuel injector problems your 94 should throw a "check engine" light. It is my understanding that some of the earlier Maxima's in the same generation did not have the capability to throw a "check engine" light for a bad fuel injector but the 94 certainly does. This happened to me recently. If your check engine light is not lit then it is probably not a fuel injector problem. I would look to the other sensors. Keep hunting and researching! Also, I agree with the dead batman (lol!). You can easily clean a throttle body yourself if you still think it's the problem. Don't try and get a new one.

Some times they(the ecu) will throw an injector code, but most times they wont.
Update
Thanks guys!...really appreciate your replies...
Update: The car is still at a dealers...and they can't figure out what the problem is...dealer techs still don't have an answer???
Was wondering myself if the timing belt (internal) might be related?
Thanks again...
ps.....a couple of you mention injectures not have the 10-14 ohms...two different dealer techs said they have been checked out ok???

It could be the timing belt if it skipped perhaps a single tooth but it would be running pretty bad. That doesn't happen very often. Agreed - it's probably not the timing belt.
UDATE
Hi guys...well my Max is still in at the dealers and from conversation with service... they are still stumped and working on it...
Air flow meter checks out ok.
If it was the belt...fuel filter or pump...it would show up as something else?
So the service writer told me this morning ...they...the manager...tech...and everybody are going to get together to try to figure out this mystery?
.....
Any of you guys have any ideas and suggestions.....???
Thanks.....Starrider

Hi guys...
Wow...those oem parts from the dealers are just really expensive...is there another alternative besides the junk yards?
What parts houses carry reliable parts that are within reason price wise???
Can you name a few...Thanks Starrider

The 'air flow meter'...The tech took one off another car and put it on mine...and fired it up... and it ran fine. It was just a lucky hunch i guess.
I was told by the first dealer that the meter checked out ok...i assume there is no other way to check if anything is wrong with the meter except with the 'check engine light'. Which ...in this case didn't register anything ?
