I am hoping someone here can give me some info on the heater core for our cars, Firstly, does anyone happen to know if there is a difference between the heater core for the LHD maxima and the RHD maxima?, I need to replace mine, but the junk yards in Australia are asking as much for a heater core as a brand new one from courtesy Nissan, problem is I don't know if the US unit will fit. I know the heater pipes come through the firewall toward the left side of the car on the RHD maxima, but I am not sure if the core itself is actually different, or just mounted up side down. So far I haven't been able to find anyone who has seen the heater core from a RHD maxima to confirm.

The next possibility is the core inlet pipes, someone told me once that the plastic core inlet pipes can be removed from the core itself, does anyone know if this is true, as the problem I have with mine is one of the plastic inlet pipes has broken.

yes it should be same as far i know...nissan wouldnt want to use different heater core for each region...

edit: it would fit but u might need to adjust a lil bit thats it...

And have fun with that. I had to change mine a couple of years ago. What a pain.

 

more than likely it will work.
IIRC the core is roughly center on the car.
see if your local nissan dealer will give you the part #

 

Yes the pipes on the heater core can come off. I believe there are about 4 screws on each pipe.
