Need help with Frame question

Need help with Frame question

My 92 maxima is still going strong and i need to know one part on the car....i was told that these cars where a uni-body so that the parts of the frame can be removed and replace if need be....i notice on the pass. side of the car where the control arm connects to the frame with to big bolts is starting to rust away i was just wondering what that piece is called and if anyone know where you can buy it? heres a website that i think i found what it is

Without a picture it would be difficult for any of us to tell you if that is correct or not. But from your description I would guess that that is the correct part.

based on the illustration, that is a frame rail and if yours is rusted so bad that it needs replacing then expect to find alot of other rust elsewhere on the car. once you find rust, it's only a matter of time before it eats everything to the point of it being unsafe and illogical to fix.
Personally if the control arm mounting area is rusted, I would replace the car. the costs involved are not worth it IMO

my frame rail is rusted i scraped and sprayed it but theres no rust near the control arm (mechanic double checked for me)should i consider serious bodywork before the car gets totaled from it? or do i have some time if i maintain it properly?

You can use something called rubber undercoating. 3M makes this along with many other companies. It basically adds a rubber coating to the chassis and helps prevent rust in certain areas of the car. I have used this product on every car I have owned and it works great.
