Sorry to be a pest, but does anyone know if I can use these Pathfinder VG injectors on a Maxima and have them work well?

well and if it's the same impedence type. some z31 injectors had high impedance, some had low.. so depending what ecu and what injectors some people had to use dropping resistors to keep from frying the ECU. but if the pathy injectors are from a vg30e and are the same 10-14ohm type as the stockers then they should work as long as they fit.

ok folks this was the latest "injector" related thread I could find :P

I need to replace 1 measly injector in my VG... question is!!!!
replace just the 1? or all 6?
The 1 is measuring 70ohm and stumbles terribly (weird that only 1 will do that)
the other 5 are 12-13ohm - so they check out.

Last time I had replaced all 6 of my injectors at around 150k; only 3 were actually reading out of spec ohm-age. I'm now at 230k... will I regret it if I only do 1?

As it is with everyone asking for advice... $$ is tight (yeah, sameO sameO).

Thanks In Advance!

depends.

do you want to do it once or risk having to do it again later? no matter what you do, DO NOT buy remans, even for threat of death or divine intervention. because if you buy remans then there is a 99.9999999999999999999999999999% chance that you'll be doing it again within a year.

I'm in the same sort of situation, I only did one and I figured I'd chance it. If you can do it yourself and you're fine doing the work over then I'd wait, if you're paying someone else then you might as well do them all because you'd be paying alot for them to redo the labor each time.

anywhere from a few hours to a few days depending how cautious you are, how many things break while you are taking it apart, and whether or not you have all the gaskets and stuff you need before you start.

also popping in a full rail of used injectors takes slightly less time than changing an individual injector(s).

Will Pathfinder injectors fit in the Maxima fuel rail?

There's 4 jet holes in an injector. 259cc divided by 4 = 64.75cc

I wonder if there is a way to plug up one of the jets on a 259cc injector so you would have only 3 jets spraying?

So, 3 X 64.75 = 194.25cc

Would that be close enough to 180cc for the ecu to handle?

nice theory but it wouldn't work. the holes are not individual paths or individually valved or anything... so whatever was blocked by one hole would just come out one of the other three holes. it would only impede flow at high duty levels, not at 0-50% where the injectors spend most of their time.

just FYI, I've been running VE injectors in my VG (all 6 red top) for 4 years now. No problems.

agh! i still haven't changed my VG injector... i'm so lazy!

i would try the VE -> but i have a strong feeling that I'll be placed in the group of "having issues with 1VE" and I hate wasting money

the nissan dealership wants $145 for 1 injector. and I have to pay separate for the upper and lower o-rings - oh MAN!

does anyone know off hand if the Pathfinder/Hardbody VG's have this injector issue too? of lasting so short of life?
