Just replace them with any aftermarket strut you like, it's no more work to replace them then a non sonar suspension 3rd gen. You simply leave the wiring harness unplugged from the top of each strut tower, lol obviously because there will be no plug in on whatever aftermarket strut you replace them with.

I have(had) the Sonar Suspension option in my car, you can leave the harness plugged in. The Sonar Suspension has it's own computer, and does not affect the car in any way; so go ahead and replace your struts. I have front KYB's and rear SE struts.

yeah .. thats ya best bet. The price of the OEM sonar suspension strts cost more then doing conventional strut/spring setups. I dont even think Nissan even stocks those in the warehouse anymore

Just out of curiosity, does the sonar suspension also level the car?

No, it just stiffens up the ride or softens it. Nothing fancy. btw, several years ago when my front struts were going bad, we went to the dealership to find out how much it was for the struts. Turns out it would have been $600. PER strut.
