Jerking at 2000 RPM

I'm getting intermitten jerking at 2000 RPM and I can't accelerate unless I drop below 2000 RPM. I disonnected the MAF to see what would would happen (stalling ) and the Check engine light didn't even come on.....

Can you accelerate past 2000 RPM's? Or does it stop there and jerk. Disconnecting the MAF won't immediately throw a code, but if you can tell no difference in the engine's performance when it is disconnected it is probably the culprit. If you can accelerate past 2000 RPM's, when in gear or idle, that could be a number of things. If might be worth checking resistance on your injectors and coolant temperature sensor. Also, is the car in good tune? (Spark plugs, wires, (or Coils if you have a VE), air filter, fuel filter, etc.?) Report back.

I forgot to mention the the temp gauge also shows no temp after driving for a while then perks up to normal....this definitely is more than likely bad because the connection is secure.

the temp needle is an isolated system. there are 2 temp sensors. one for ECU, and one JUST for the gauge. see if this is happening to the gauge one:

if that is happening then it's the sensor, if not, probably the gauge.

make sure your intake hose going from the maf to the intake has no cracks or leaks, i had a mx-6 that had that problem and it was because it had a crack in the rubber after the maf and letting unmetered air in after the maf, i used some electrical tape to fix the crack(i know ghetto) but it worked perfectly.
