89 turbo z?

iam currently rebuilding the 89 special edition turbo z motor for trantplant into the you no what.Anyway my questions what makes this motor special from the earlier z platforms? Also does this motor require two cams? iam thinking its a sohc cam engine but some other people are saying it has dohc with a single turbo remember this is the special edition 89 turbo engine if that helps.I will have a few items for sale like the ssypipe, and maybe the first pipe that comes with the cold air intake i may use the pipe in the fender to run with a custom connection on the z motor any helpful replies are thanked in advance.

just curious...you're in the middle of rebuilding a motor and you have no clue if it's a SOHC or a DOHC?

89 turbo

upon purchase of the motor its a sohc vg30et my question was is there any difference in the 89 special edition over the earlier z platform forms? Some one mentioned to me that maybe this engine was a dohc single turbo i questioned because i never heard of it.On another note i think iam pretty knowledgable of alot things that can be done to improve the look and performance of the maxima i respect everyones imput if its useful thats why i ask questions. But since there is some know it alls who's cars have no personality and are still asking questions on what airfilters are the best or are my 16inch stock rims going to rub.I respect the people on this site that truly give useful answers no matter what its about.

you should reread your post again then. "does this motor require two cams?", "i am thinking its a SOHC"...it just seems as if you really don't know much about the motor you are working with. i will admit i don't have all the answers but i wouldn't go and buy a motor that i'm not even sure what it is...*makes mental note to research in depth a motor before he buys it*

Special Edition Z is still SOHC just like any other Z31 VG30ET. How's that for an answer?
