So I have the SOHC 93 Maxima with an automatic transmission. I was driving around yesterday when I heard a loud pop. I didn't know where the sound came from so I kept on driving. Then I eventually noticed that as I was driving, I would get to almost 5000rpm and the transmission wouldn't shift. I'm assuming that the transmission is on the way out, am I right? Manually shifting from D to "1" or "2" seems fine and I can drive out on "1" or "2" no problem, and everything else seems fine. Anybody know what is going on?
