Doesnt go in park

Doesnt go in park

I have another max a 94 gxe.It doesnt go into park.It will start up in neutral an all.I push up and doesnt go! any suggestions?

Worn loosened misaligned stick linkage to tranny. Bushings, they'll say. If u wanna make sure, push the tranny lever by hand (open hood, below brake fluid reservoir) http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/15

Can be ... depends whatever "doesnt go into park" means.

For me, "Park" means first the mechanically locked wheels. That has to work w/o any voltage applied. Mech locking bits in tranny become locked only via driver determination on the stick, transferred into tranny with cable/lever. Misalignment for whatever reason disrupts wysiwyg.

A switch relays electrical status info, not needed in that basic mechanical P-function. This second step = startup -enable, truly needs the mentioned Inhibitor Switch to function.
