Help with Cabin lighting....

The lights that illuminate my Hot/Cold switch, and that whole bank of center controls, has gone out.
Does anyone know what kind of bulb this takes and how to access it?

I have looked a Haynes and Chilton manuals but they don't address this area specifically.

Thanks to any and all.

dont know for sure about yoru climate control lights, but I know the ones that go inside your switches: cruise control, hazard, dimmer, fogs, defrost, and the ones that go above and below the lever on the left side of the climate control are "microlamps" that you can get from Radio Shack
part #: 272-1092 or 900-2616
12V lamps (not LEDs) about 60mA current
check out this pic of them I made:
http://www.geocities.com/craigbracegt/maxima/lighting and then click on the pic
if it doesn't work, try again later because geocities is gay

to change them, you have to take out the switches and pull them apart
once they are open, you will see the bulbs attached to a small plastic piece
take out the old one and then bend the legs of the new one to match the way it was

those bulbs go in the switches, not gauges

but yes you can, I believe they are 194 bulbs and you can get differnt color ones at an auto parts stote. search on here for more info

check my site under clock repair for how to get to your gauges

Hey Craig I need the bulbs that go behind the power and comfort switch in my console and I also need the bulbs for the sonar suspension switch. The dealer says that they will only sell me the whole switch

the bulbs in the pic are what you want

take out the switch (pry it carefully up with a screwdriver)
remove the harness
on the back side, you will see little plastic "screw heads"
unscrew those 1/2 a turn and they will fall out
the bulbs go in there
bend the new legs to fit in like the ones are now

I dont have much experience with the stock nissan keyless system.

If neither control pad work, I would think it's probably something with the main unit (under the passenger side dash between the glove box and the body panel). Replacing that is very expensive.

If I were you, I'd go aftermarket keyless entry. It's not too hard to put in if you can find and connect some wires (color codes on my site adn Matt93se's site). I got mine for $40 from ebay. They have a ton on there.
Search on here for more info about that because I've explained it many times and so hvae a few others.

Good luck,
Craig

yes, there are a radio shack part
you can order them directly from www.radioshack.com
they may not have them in certain stores
There is a giant "RadioShack.Com" near me that I got mine from which used to be a Tech America so the place still has a bunch of Tech America inventory. I had to use the 900-2616 number because they said they didn't have anything starting with 272 at that store, but yours may be different. With both those numbers, you should be ok though.
Yes, they are clear adn the switches have the translucent colored film that creates the green or orange glow (normally green but orange for defrost on light and others like that). I dont think they have any other colors

email me whenever you want
