92 VE Stalling out while driving??
Relax man, have some patience and take your time, be through with your inspection, there is no reason to scrap the car because it won't start, you have a failed part causing it, you just have to find out what it is..We will help as much as we can..

Sorry guys i have been very busy today im gonna try to fix the cracked coils tomorrow. Dont know how to run the tests on EC-253. My neighbor said it sounds like its not getting gas?? Any ideas about that one?? Just did the fuel pump, fuel filter, and one of the injectors no more than 2 weeks ago.

i'll admit... the test procedure for the CMPS is kinda complicated, compared to some tests i've seen.
at least go do this

you have a 2-mode system cuz it's a VE. If it comes back as having an error code, that is, something other than a 55, then you will know what to begin looking at.
if you cannot for the life of you figure out how to do the tests on EC-253... then i still suggest trying a different CMPS cuz nobody else has yet to come up with a part that will shut the tachometer off when the engine loses power, but still have everything else (radio, speedometer, headlights, etc) functioning normally

Please include all recent work done when you first post about a problem with your car.
edit:
first time, i cranked it for about 10 seconds and it did absolutely nothing. i waited a second, tried it again, and it did start.... but was misfiring like a ****, and pushing the gas pedal did didn't cause it to rev... it caused it to backfire through the exhaust, and the tachometer kindof fluttered once or twice when i jabbed the gas, but didn't actually have anything to do with RPM. CEL was on also.
keep in mind tho, i don't have the same engine as you

When the listing was posted you did it and the recent work done is at the bottom of the first posting sorry for the misunderstanding. I personally did all the work on it and there are many local junkyards but not sure if there are maximas there. What would you like me to look for at these junkyards for my car???

no,it will not start..
This doesn't mean this the cmps is the culprit, please dude, before he spends the money on this SERIOUSLY EXPENSIVE PART ) lets make sure it's not other things maybe related to cracked coils, or his recent work..
A new CMPS is $322

well i wasn't gonna tell him to buy a brand new one unless he was sure that's what it was..... if he could get his hands on a known-good used one for theap tho, that would let him know if he needed a new one or not. cuz yea, those things are hella expensive.
Also, unless he has a U-Pull-It type salvage yard local, most "regular" junkyards will not let you pull any one engine part off of a good engine in their yards, so a used unit may not be an option for him.
Well then stop harping on it, this part rarely fails on these cars,(hence the $$$ for a new unit) I'm now thinking this has more to do with recent work done, instead of coils or cmps or whatever..

i've come across another car tho that would totally fall on its face for no reason while driving, and sometimes took forever to start. we never managed to figure out why it wouldn't start, but whatever it was, it was causing the injectors not to fire. if he's got a multimeter he can hook it up to one of the injector plugs while trying to start the car, to see if he has any voltage.
perhaps not getting any spark...
Well, you didn't "Flood" it if thats what you are worried about, this is not possible on fuel injected engines.
lemme see if mine will start with it unplugged... hold on

, go unplug your mass air flow sensor wire harness, then try to start the car.
