bose question

okay heres the deal. i just bought 2 12' jl subs from a friend along with an amp. Can i just hook them up to my bose system? If not, can i get a new cd deck but leave the bose door speakers in? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again.

As far as I understand, you can keep your fronts if you bypass the Bose amps. Then you can run speaker wires to the amp/subs from the HU. This is what I'm currently doing (new HU, but keeping Bose speakers). Bypassing the amps is not that difficult. You just cut the wires from the harness before it goes into the amp and splice the speaker wires (there are 4, use the 2 thinner ones as the other are the power/ground for the amp) into the terminals of the speaker. You may want to connect female heads to the harness speaker wires for a good connection. Search for "bypassing Bose amps" for wiring details.

Ive put new amp and 10's in my max with a new head unit. all you have to do is buy a special adapter from your local best buy for about $14. Then you wire the head unit to the adapter, and the adapter to the wire harness and plug 'er in!
