Trunk wont open HELP!!!

it just happened last night. My friend was getting something out of the trunk and when i pulled the latch it opened fine. But today, I try to pull the latch and you can hear it, but the trunk is stuck closed! Plus my key doesnt turn in the key hole! Does anyone have any idea how to get to the trunk??

Im trying to get inside from the backseat, but there's some type of mesh grill or something that is blocking me from getting in it...

you may need to take the back seat out to get through.
there are instructions on here somewhere, but I can give you a quick rundown.
remove the bottom cushion by pulling up on the sides, and working your way to the center. the cushion should just pop off. pull it out, throw it in the yard.
on the bottom of the back cushion, near the door, there is a screw holding the seat in. unscrew it.
flip down the arm rest. there are a couple of caps covering a couple more screws. pop the caps (gently, dont break 'em) and unscrew the screws.
that should be all the screws. lift the seat cushion straight up, it may take a little effort, its held in by clips on the top, and they are a pita on my car.
that gets the seat out of the way. remove the two screws on either side of the metal support beam, and you have a hole covered by the trunk liner. gently pry each of the clips you can off of the pannel(some will probably break)
you should now be in the trunk.

or call a locksmith, and see if he can get it open.

yeah we took out the backseats and i left that little mesh plastic cover off just in case. But ya, the latch is broke... i popped it with a screwdriver from inside the truck. We closed it, opened it, and it worked. And then tried again, and it didnt. So off to the junkyard i go i guess... Thx for the help though...

WTF i just got this car like 3 weeks ago!!!! im pissed...

your keys are too worn for the cylinders. call a lock smith to make new keys.

yeah

i just found it funny that he was willing to put rims on the car but new keys and a broken trunk latch should make him feel like takin it to the junkyard also the first time you take the wheels off the car it shouldn't be to put rims on especially a 16 year old car

to the original poster the car will be fine this isnt the sign of a hunderd and one other things that are gonna break pretty soon your just a lil unlucky this is gonna happen with every car you buy unless you buy a brand new one

so dont worry this isnt a honduh i doubt anything else will break for very along time

Woah, slow down dude. This happened BEFORE my locks and trunk began to mess up. So i had no problems b4 then.

And i see nothin "rice" about the statement that I made. The lugs were too small, i didnt know, and they stripped.

how about you stop using the "rice" reference until you FULLY UNDERSTAND it's meaning...ok?
the term is offensive and entice flames.
Thanks,

why not? people are entitled to put rims on the car when ever they want...why would it matter the age of the car? i put wheels on a 68 camaro the first time i took the wheels off...the studs were fine.

let's stop the honda bashing ok? we don't like it when they do it...don't start now.

let's be a little more opened minded when typing in a discussion forum.

What do you mean you were pulling the latch. What latch? I am also confused how after 1 or 2 lugs you didn't realize something was wrong.

electric trunk popper is standard on GXE didn't come on SE until 92... i think. all of the VG SE's i've seen have had manual pop (trunk is up, gas is down... on gxe gas is up, so i always pop matt's trunk when trying to pop his gas door haha)
