clutch issues.

Sup ?... i did a 5 speed swap about 2 mo. ago. I noticed after the swap that my clutch pedal has a mind of it`s own. When the car is warm or in warm weather, the pedal is hard ( like having a race clutch) and the release is high. When it`s cool , the pedal has alot of freeplay and it sometimes gets to the point where i have to pump the pedal to enguage gear. I tried bleeding the system and rebuilt the master ( it was leaking) and still no change ... any ideas ??? I`m getting tired of constantly adjusting the clutch pedal everytime this happens.

You probably need a new slave cylinder

Agree. Slave cylinder. And make sure your master rebuild is working right. Plus bleeding is one of the most important things. You mentioning that things are different when it is cold and hot makes me think you have some air in the line.

Good Luck.

mine did the exact same thing. It got to the point sometimes where the pedal was SO hard that the clutch would start slipping. Is the clutch/pp new, or did you reuse the one you got with the swap parts?

I fixed it, but i replaced SO many parts at once (slave, clutch/pp/tob, all clutch lines) that i can't say for certain what fixed the problem. My pedal's hardness depended on how much i was using the clutch, moreseo than ambient temperature. I just carried a 10mm wrench with me to release the pressure once it started slipping until i got around to replacing the old parts.

update .... i tried adjusting the clutch pedal and that seemed to have worked. FOR NOW... the pedal feel still changes. no leaks anywhere found. i was wondering about the bleed screw thats on the junction block itself. What do u guys think is i juist run a braided line form the master straight to the slave ??

with the proper fittings, that would be fine.

that's what i did on mine. hardline from master cylinder to junction, you keep... then just fit the rubber or SS soft line to that, and that to the master cylinder
