Can i have Blue Speedo Meter?
Hello guys,
i have got several messages from many 3rg gen Orgers asking that how did you make your speedo meter look blue and that bright since LED bulbs doesn't make that kinda light output because they works like a laser, their light beam goes straight and makes several hot spots on speedo meter which doesnt really look good. We need blue 194 bulbs which spreads their light 360 and unfortunately Only LED 194s comes in such colors....so lets come to the point....
I used 194 LED bulbs yes LED but i used 194 4-SMD WEDGE LED bulbs which has 4 small leds on each bulbs instead of ONE and they spread like 360 not exactly but they works and over top of that they dont make hot spots on ur speedo and light output on ur speedo is even and nice looking. On the other hand, they dont use much power and stays cooler than normal or stock 194 bulbs u buy from local auto parts....o yeah they LAST LONGER WAY LONGER THAN stockys...heres the link where i got these bulbs from and heres the picture of them and plus my speedo meter picture....

looks good, man, my only worry is whether or not the blue really ****s with night vision (I have the worlds worst, so I stick with white, and nobody seems to be able to give a scientific based output on the matter)
if it isnt a concern, this is one mod that can be done pretty cheap (but $3.50 each? seems like I could build 'em cheaper than that, idk) and gives the car a new look at night.

Do they really look like they do in the picture? I am asking because I have wide lens led in my se cluster. They are not very bright and the end of the tach is dim almost like yours and so is the odo. But, if I take a pic, they look great in the pic. It's like dig cam compensate and make a bright visable pic. So mine look great in a pic but a bit disapointing in person.

pop the black plastic cover thing off, then you can worm your hand under there and untwist the bulb socket. I have never done it but that's how it's done. You might have to remove the center console entirely (no biggie, 6 screws) to get enough room to get in there.

thanks cape. oh and you are right about the new stangs LED set up

Sounds cool actually. That's the same type of idea that goes into the displays that ring around the entire top level of sports arenas. All they are is a sequence of red green and blue LEDS but have the ability to display hundreds of thousands of colors, not quite as versatile as an LCD, but cool none the less. And cost effective.

Nice work Burhan. It's hard to believe, but I did this mod about 8 years ago! (as you can tell from my mileage). The center needle never lit up properly though. But it didn't light up properly before I did the blue lights either.

it cant be all fused bulbs....so its either wiring from the climate control harness or climate control it self....tap on climate control or pull/push wires around on the back if it lights up then u have found the problem if not then i guess gotta get confused with wiring diagram and find the needle in dark...

well, just got the bulbs in today from Japan. didn't get the blue ones like i said earlier instead i got the white ones. installed them and what a difference!!! i love it but for some reason i emits like bluish hotspots and other areas just in white. could the gauge faces cause this or the bulbs? i will try and change the bulbs position from left to right of cluster. i'll try and post a pic of it so you guys can see what i mean.

Not sure what you mean in terms of changing bulb position from left to right of the cluster, unless you mean spinning the bulb in its socket so it emit light from a different angle?
Did you replace all the bulbs in the cluster?
