I've got the fuel rail, how in the hell do you pull it out? They twist but they won't pull out? Any ideas that don't involve breaking the plastic tips?

Use a deep well 1/4" drive 11mm socket and a bench vise to push it out from the back side. A large socket on the top of the injector will allow it to be pressed out. It will be a cumbersome procedure, but it works well.

leave the rail bolted to the motor or secure it in a vice, clamp a pair of vice grips to the top of the injector as tight as you can, twist it back and forth while pulling up and it will come out.

depends if you are trying to pop a dead one out, or pop one out that you intend to reuse.
greeny pioneered the "bfh" method... only works on 89-92 VG injectors tho. i did it a ghetto way on mine.. i took the widest flat-headed screw i could use to spread the load evenly and just slowly tapped it out from the bottom. but since the force was distributed evenly i think i'm OK. tho i mutilated my pintle caps, so i ordered new ones, along with new o-rings, but i wanted to make sure i only had to do it once so i got that stuff just to be sure.

i broke all of mine, but then again i used a block of wood and then a flat-headed screw (head of screw against injector tip) to get mine out... i forgot that greeny jused a rubber-handled tool but they still might have broken anyways. but i got 6 new ones on the way for like $13 so it's not as bad as it could have been.

after seeing what james did to his injectors when trying to remove them (even tho he didn't actually have to, but he didn't know better), i am wary of the visegip method. he basically ripped the entire plastic upper piece off of 4 injectors, and smashed it on the other 2. that's how come i tapped them out from underneath; i just felt better about doing it that way, just wish i'd ordered the pintle caps a week ago so they'd be here already and i could drive m'damn car again. o well now i have an excuse to tear more stuff apart and fix things i've been putting off

If you have the 4 prong type pintle caps like mine(late model vg and all ve's have these) then yes it will break the prongs off, but the prongs are useless in my opinion. I reused two of my ve injectors into my vg with the pintle prongs broke off, no problems as of yet.

i actually cracked the ring portion on one of mine, along with all 24 prongs.

Leaky Injector
I strapped everything back together tonight and now one of the injectors has a small leak. Every pressure up cycle its maybe an Ounce, is this going to give me trouble and is this injector now considered faulty. Is it likely the injector or some oring I didn't replace. Also a bunch of gas went in and a bumped the starter a few times, whats the chance I screwed a rod?

remove screws from rail remove metal caps. put screws back in half way, take two flathead screwdrivers place one on each screwhead with point of screwdriver under both sides of injector then apply downward force on the screwdrivers and Pop goes the injector!
PS Spray a lil lube around the injector first.

VE ones. Put the rail in a vise. Use one screwdriver (small) and gently pry up a little. Spray the jesus out of the opening with WD40. Try to get the two upper/lower orings wet with WD40 and try to move the injector around. Keeping working the injector by using another screwdriver until it pops out. Patience is key or else you will mangloid the injector to death

yo I replace my injector on thursday i took it out while the rail was in the car just use a screw driver to pry up a little then while it starts to come up use your other hand and pull it out the o-ring tightness is over rated
