How much would it cost to swap out an auto tranny out of a VE for a 5spd manual one? I don't want to know how (way too much work for me), I just want a good $ estimate.

 

its not a everyday task for most shops...so there is no set price.... so far I've heard anything from $2500-3000+ ask tranny shops around your area and see.....

 

for that money, I could just spend the extra cash and get a 4th gen instead. I guess I'll have to look pretty hard to find a VE 5spd in decent condition.

 

yeah, and plus you might have to worry about the whole thing BREAKING since its might not be a common practice to the shop who does it! but yeah IMO, if you wanna reliable car with a STRONG and GROWING aftermarket, go with the 4th gen!
