HOW DO U UNPLUG THE FUEL INJECTORS TO CHECK THEM??
I am trying to determine which injector is bad, and I cant seem to get the plug off of them to see if the engine changes idle. I checked the ecu and got a code 55 twice. But The injector failure is intermitt not all the time. I just put new plugs and wires in so i know its not that, and the Engine has a consistant and annoying miss when I park it and listen to it, which i think is eating up the gas mileage. Some told me not to worry about it, but I am a little worried about it. Any help would be appreiceted.
if all your stuff is 93 original stuff, then it's squeeze/n/pull like greeny said. if by chance a previous owner replaced the engine with a 89-92 engine (or just the injectors with 89-92 injectors/harnesses) then there's a little metal ring clip securing them that you'll have to pick out of the way with a needle or small flathead screwdriver. you will learn to loathe those metal clips (and perhaps not bother to reinstall them, as long as you check to make sure your connections are snug every time you open the hood)
Just be careful when you remove the plugs - I snapped the tab on one of mine trying to remove it, I thought I had to pry the tab with a screwdriver tip. One of the connectors I recall was blocked by the plenum - you have to test from the side connector near the gallery hoses.

I managed to get the front 2 unplugged to see if there was a green substance in the plugs, I cleaned 2 of them, one was under the intake plenum, so i didnt bother to mess with it. When I started the engine I could not get the plugs off because the engine was so hot, So now I am stuck. I will have to purchase a miltimeter so I can test them out to see which ones are acting up.

OK guys when i called myself checking for corrosion on my fuel injectors I only checked the outside I didnt separate the plug from the injector to check the contacts inside... what is the proper way to remove them without breaking the connection ..do you push and pull or squeeze then pull, i think i tried both but it didnt bulge so i thought i would ask before i broke it.... I only am trying to check #4 since it seems to be the bad injector....
