Injector Plastic Tip....Do I need it?

In the process of removing one of the bad injectors on my car, the plastic tips on the end of the front three injectors became damaged I was worried about them falling down into the motor, so I went ahead and pulled them off since they were cracked and seemed loose.

Do I need these tips to be on the injector? If so I might have to order two extra injectors even those are bad.

Thanks

It's called a pintle cap, and yes you need it to hold your bottom o'ring in place..

I am just worried about if any of the plastic fell into the injector hole.

Sigh...the saga of my life.

don't worry about plastic, it will be disintegrated in the first few revolutions of the engine..
