Can some kind person explain how to locate the speedo (Hall effect) sensor? Is it on the transmission somewhere? I need to fix it. The speedo stopped working.

 

On top of the transmission, towards the back. It has one screw holding it in the trans..

 

Thanks. Can you tell me what it looks like? Couple of wires coming from it? I've tried to find a spare but no success so I'll try to fix it based on what I heard here, it is the Hall effect sensor out of position.

 

 

search people search,its up there for a reason! Its about 50 threads on this. Jus search one them should have a pic.Ive seen it myself

 

You know, I'm all for searching before posting as much as the next guy, but have you actually tried to use the search function lately? It's absolutely positively worthless. Since Maxima.org re-tooled the forums a while back, I haven't been able to find hardly anything using the search. Plus, the dozens of bookmarked threads I'd collected over the years that generally allowed me to not have to search no longer work (well, they work, but they now link to completely random threads).
