Agreed. Aaron92SE makes a phenolic intake manifold spacer kit which drastically reduces intake temps. The kit he sells has a throttle body coolant bypass, but that is just one of several things in the kit. With the coolant bypass kit alone, yeah the air temp would be marginally reduced, but the air temp would go back up once it hits the upper intake manifold.

Think about it this way - air comes in the intake (cool), hits the bypassed throttle body (slightly cooler than normal), goes into the upper intake manifold (hot), lower intake manifold (hotter) and into the combustion chamber (hot enough to melt your face). LOL Sort of like wearing cold weather gear in the desert. If you take your gloves off you will be 'cooler', but will it really help that much?

If I'm not mistaken Aaron has a kit like this. If you really wanted you could make it yourself. TB & IM spacers are worth it.

aaron's intake kit does have fittings for the bypass, and you can use the stock hose w/ the fitting. i'm 99% sure the VG spacer kit was discontinued, but he might still have the VE one (either in-stock, or can have some made w/ enough deposits)

The VE spacer kit was in stock as of last week (LOL I know 'cause I got one), but it wouldn't hurt to double check if you're interested. As stated previously, the full kit would provide better gains than just the tb coolant by-pass.

Aaron's tb bypass for the VE is a brass male-male adapter, similar to the picture in the OP's link. Maybe it's just me, but I'd trust a company built on providing top notch products and superb customer service to the Maxima.org community over claims from a random eBay company.

Midnight, here is a link to Aaron92SE's VE intake spacer kit if you're interested.

What it should say is "buy at your own risk." If it were me (though its not) I would try talking with Aaron and seeing if he wouldn't mind making one more for me, or find someone selling some NWP brand. "Good Luck With That"
