Blower Fan Motor Replacement?...

Hey guys,.. My fan motor (Heat/A/C is going out,.. I pulled the end cap loose and inspected the brushes and the armature and there's about an 1/8" groove in the armature,.. and the brushes are about gone..

I called the dealer and they want 220.00 for one!.. WOW!.. I called around and got my Brothers shop's discount at a local store,... about 70 bucks with tax and all.. it only includes the motor though.. (Which is fine..)

I guess my question is this: Is there anything I should know before I go to swap out this motor later this evening? - I mean things like "You have to remove part of the dash" ..or "Look out for _______" type of stuff..

It looks pretty easy for the most part,.. . three bolts, two wires, a connector,.. swap out the squirrel cage,.. .. I mean how hard could it be?? ( )

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

the motor is quite easy to replace, pretty straight forward, a few bolts, a connector, blah blah, and it's out.

I have a good used one for sale for cheap if you want it..

Awe crap!,.. I forgot you had a whole list of stuff for sale ... well either way I needed to get it up and blowing in a hurry as it's been in the upper 90's here everyday and the humidity has been like 99.999999999999 %!!! ..

The fan/motor swap went pretty easy,.. the new one didn't have the connector like the factory one does so I just had to figure out the "hot" wire and make the connections.... sucker blows hard now!

I also still had a spare can of R12 lying around so I topped the system off too,.. she's blowing nice and cold (and hard) again - My wife has to take it on an hour trip today since I've got our van in the shop as well ..

Thanks again!
Rick

Sorry for the dumb question, but where can you access the blower motor? I've taken apart my dash to replace a busted gauge cluster but I don't recall seeing where the blower motor would be.

The Blower motor is underneath the passenger side glove box
