Changing Fuel Injectors????
Changing Fuel Injectors????
My car is acting up! vg30e engine with a bad injector. The problem went away for a little while after spraying some electronic parts cleaner on all the injector contacts/ plugs. I also sprayed the maf, and TPS, cleaned out the egr, and IAC valve. I also Added a can of B-12 chemical cleaner to the fuel tank. It seemed to work. The idle returned to normal, and the miss was gone after a few tankfulls. Low and behold the miss is back, and it is annoying as ever. I have tried to avoid changing the injectors maybe one or two that are bad, bacause I dont know how. I have done a lot of work on my car, but have not done injectors. I put a new intake manifold gasket along with new valve cover gaskets on, so i Know how to take the plenum off. But its just a problem of unscrewing the injectors, or does the whole fuel rail come off as an assembly. I mean how hard is of a job is it.
first check the resistance on the injectors, to see which one is misbehaving. you have to pull the whole intake manifold off, but technically you can leave the rail in the car, but it's easier to be careful when it's off the car (careful b/c of the o-rings that have a tendency to tear during installation)
hardest part is dealing w/ the upper intake, imo, and all the vac lines that like to break. and if you use RTV, not smearing it beyond use when setting the intake down.

Well see ive done the intake gasket before, it was like $16 dollars from the dealer, what was that website that had them on there for $8?? I cant remember. But anyhow when i removed the plenum the first time, the vacuum lines looked so brittle, so I replaced most of them that I felt were hard and breaking off. It now takes me less than an hour to remove the upper plenum. But its just the fuel lines and injectors is what puzzles me.
