Does anybody have pictures of a 3rd gen with the door handles shaved off? And, does anybody know how much it would cost to have them shaved?

C.D.
don't waste your time. it's well over $1000 just in bodywork and paint, let alone installing the plungers and other parts required to do the stuff.
If you've got a GXE, it'll be even worse as you've got to get around the keypads in the doors or you'll have problems elsewhere later.

Well, I've got a GXE NOW, but...
I'd have done it to a 92-94 SE 5spd (If i can find one (might as well be looking for a Supra)), but if the guys had problems with the door-opening mechanism, I don't want to have to break into my car (and set the alarm off) just to drive it home or whatever. Looks like a neat idea, though, and I WAS willing to pay the money, but I never really took the mechanical aspect of it into very close consideration. I don't think I'll do it unless I've got SO much money that I don't know what to do with it (which never seems to happen to me).
Friend Jeff is having his shaved as we speak, might even be done. I think he shave 4 doors, trunk, and antenna if I'm not mistaken. Only primering car though. I'll see if I can get him to post some pics and the price.
well over $1000?...no not hardly...but im only having my car primered like chris said, but im having the dents taken out of my car, the doors handles shaved, body moldings shaved, middle piece in between the trunk shaved, antenna, windshield wiper squirters shaved, the gas lid shaved and and moved behind the tail-light, and an aluminum wing mounted...for $570....but this guy is a good freind and is head of our club...so i doubt u get that kinda price anywhere else, but all of the other prices i checked on were around $400 to shave the dorrhandles and paint..if u guys r anywehre near TN and would be willing to take a wknd off and get it done...he would be happy ot do it ....im sure...
