Shavint door handles off...

Does anybody have pictures of a 3rd gen with the door handles shaved off? And, does anybody know how much it would cost to have them shaved?

If I can find the pictures, I saw a 3rd Gen at a car show in Tampa about a year ago with his handles shaved. He had his doors hooked up with door plungers. It looked tight, but he said he has had too many problems with the plungers. They hardly worked and he was always stuck outside his car. I will look for the pics but I am not promising anything.

don't waste your time. it's well over $1000 just in bodywork and paint, let alone installing the plungers and other parts required to do the stuff.
If you've got a GXE, it'll be even worse as you've got to get around the keypads in the doors or you'll have problems elsewhere later.

Well, I've got a GXE NOW, but...

I'd have done it to a 92-94 SE 5spd (If i can find one (might as well be looking for a Supra)), but if the guys had problems with the door-opening mechanism, I don't want to have to break into my car (and set the alarm off) just to drive it home or whatever. Looks like a neat idea, though, and I WAS willing to pay the money, but I never really took the mechanical aspect of it into very close consideration. I don't think I'll do it unless I've got SO much money that I don't know what to do with it (which never seems to happen to me).

Friend Jeff is having his shaved as we speak, might even be done. I think he shave 4 doors, trunk, and antenna if I'm not mistaken. Only primering car though. I'll see if I can get him to post some pics and the price.
